Attorney Susham Modi was recently appointed as an advisor to The Youth Empowerment Alliance (YEA). This is a student led group at the University of Houston focused on empowering undocumented students. YEA is affiliated with United We Dream, the largest national immigration youth led network.

YEA's stated mission includes serving as a provider of higher education resources and a support system for undocumented students on and off campus, and to be the voice of undocumented students and advocate for their issues.

YEA has hosted a wide range of activities, including: a high school mentoring program, initial and renewal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) Clinics, Texas Application for Student Financial Aid (TASFA) workshops, "Coming Out" action, a march for immigrant dignity and respect, attending national conferences to develop movement organizing skills, and providing leadership development training for members.

Attorney Modi has also worked on DACA applications and renewals in his law firm with successful results.
